Dota 2 The International 2025 Power Rankings

As part of our extensive coverage of Dota 2 The International, having already dived into the Dota 2 TI teams we’re ready to offer our very own Dota 2 The International 2024 power rankings.

Like any other Dota 2 The International 2024 power rankings, we have taken a subjective approach considering a number of factors, including recency bias, experience of teams, roster changes and more. In addition, we’ll be labelling each team with one of the following status labels:

Here’s a quick look at the Dota 2 The International power rankings before looking at each team in more detail:

Dota 2 TI Power Ranking Team
10 Team Zero
9 Cloud9
8 G2.iG
7 Tundra Esports
6 BetBoom Team
5 Xtreme Gaming
4 Team Liquid
3 Gaimin Gladiators
2 Team Spirit
1 Team Falcons

10. Team Zero

Position Player
1 Yang "Erika" Shaohan
2 Huang "7e" Heming
3 Xiang "Beyond" Zhenghong
4 Remus "ponlo" Goh Zhi Xian
5 Zhang "zzq" Ziqiang

Originally the academy team for Xtreme Gaming, Team Zero is a classic example of a wildcard competitor at The International 2023. Having only competed regionally in China, they earned the first seed at the TI 2024 China Qualifier over other sides such as Azure Ray.

With a roster featuring a tonne of youngsters, they young energy could make them a little nervous on the main stage, but it also makes them unpredictable for teams to counter-strat considering how little is known of them. While we don’t think they’ll get far, they have what it takes to upset some of the more prominent sides at this tournament.

9. Cloud9

Position Player
1 Alimzhan "watson" Islambekov
2 Volodymyr "No[o]ne-" Minenko
3 Dmitry "DM" Dorokhin
4 Vladislav "Kataomi" Semenov
5 Dzmitry "Fishman" Palishchuk

Reing the Dota scene with the g of the former Entity roster, Cloud9 is returning to The International after so many years. Hailing from Western Europe, this roster has competed with the best of the best all season long.

Packing huge veteran experience with the likes of “No[o]ne” boasting a career of over 10 years, this roster has walked away with wins in Tier 2 tournaments this season, but has struggled to break into the top of the standings at the Tier 1 level.

8. G2.iG

Position Player
1 Du "Monet" Peng
2 Cheng "NothingToSay" Jin Xiang
3 Thiay "JT-" Jun Wen
4 Ye "BoBoKa" Zhibiao
5 Yap "xNova" Jian Wei

Formed last December, G2.iG is a t partnership between G2 Esports and Invictus Gaming creating a t Chinese and Malaysia roster.

Since performing, results have been a mixed bag for this roster as they contended strongly in Chinese Qualifiers but struggled internationally. Across April and May this season, this team went on a run with strong placings at Elite League Season 1, ESL One Birmingham and PGL Wallachia.

However, after finishing 19-20th at Riyadh Masters 2024 in disappointing fashion, we can’t rank them much higher.

7. Tundra Esports

Position Player
1 Ivan "Pure-" Moskalenko
2 Topias "Topson" Taavitsainen
3 Roman "RAMZES666" Kushnarev
4 Edgar "9Class" Naltakian
5 Mattrhew "Whitemon" Filemon

Last year at The International, Tundra Esports tried to defend the Aegis of Champions. However, weeks before the tournament, one of their players had to step down for health reasons resulting in a poor performance.

Further into the 2024 season, this roster has undergone a number of changes and currently features two players on loan – “Pure-” and “RAMZES666” on loan from BetBoom and L1GA TEAM respectively. However, with more than 3 months since the last change, this team has recently peaked.

After finishing 4th at Riyadh Masters 2024, they are peaking at the right time and hence are climbing the Dota 2 TI betting odds, though they hotchpotch team paints them as an underdog.

6. BetBoom Team

Position Player
1 Egor "Nightfall" Grigorenko
2 Danil "gpk" Skutin
3 Matvey "MieRo" Vasyunin
4 Vitalie "Save-" Melnic
5 Alexander "TORONTOTOKYO" Khertek

Returning to The International once again, BetBoom Team is back with an almost identical roster. Adding Matvey “MieRo” Vasyunin back in January of this year, this team has had a strong year finishing in the podium at Tier 1 tournaments several times.

However, between their strong placements, they have a tendency to falter and randomly finish 9-11th due to difficulties in particular match-ups which is strange considering the experience this roster packs. Moreover, finishing 5-6th at Riyadh Masters recently, we’re awarding BetBoom contender status – on the right day they can take down anyone and go on a run.

The one team they can’t seem to take down though is Team Falcons.

4. Xtreme Gaming

Position Player
1 Wang "Ame" Chunyu
2 Guo "Xm" Hongcheng
3 Lin "Xxs" Jing
4 Zhao "XinQ" Zixing
5 Ding "Dy" Cong

For the most part, Xtreme Gaming has looked ice cold all season long. Bagging a couple of wins at Games of the Future 2024 and Elite League Season 1, they’ve also earned a few podium finishes throughout the season.

Moreover, they finished 1st @ Clavision: Snow Ruyi and are regarded as the best Chinese team attending The International this season. Competing over 4 years, this is Xtreme Gaming’s best chance to go far at The International ever after completely rebuilding the roster last December.

Historically, it’s been a minute since China has claimed The International – can Xtreme Gaming go above and beyond this year?

4. Team Liquid

Position Player
1 Michael "miCKe" Vu
2 Michal "Nisha" Jankowski
3 Neta "33" Shapira
4 Samuel "Boxi" Svahn
5 Aydin "Insania" Sarkohi

Up until a few weeks ago, Team Liquid wasn’t looking too hot. Finishing 9-10th @ DreamLeague 2023 was a low point for this roster hoping to recreate that magic which won Team Liquid TI back in 2017.

However, after finishing 2nd at Riyadh Masters 2024, there is suddenly a lot more hope for this roster. This is backed up by a recent win at Elite League Season 2 in Tier 2, this veteran roster seems to be peaking at the right time to make the most of The International this year.

Considering this lack of consistency, we won’t go as far as to label them as favourites, but they look like strong contenders.

3. Gaimin Gladiators

Position Player
1 Anton "dyrachyo" Shkredov
2 Quinn "Quinn" Callahan
3 Marcus "Ace" Hoelgaard
4 Erik "tOfu" Engel
5 Melchior "Seleri" Hillenkamp

After dominating last season and falling short at The International, Gaimin Gladiators have run it back this year with the same roster.

Not finding the same level of dominance this season, this team has struggled against other top teams such as Team Liquid, Team Falcons and Team Spirit.

However, at Riyadh Masters 2024, Gaimin Gladiators reminded everyone of their former performances, dominating the likes of Team Falcons and Team Liquid to win the $1,500,000 prize. With this momentum and a historically dominant roster, Gaimin Gladiators are favourites at The International 2024.

2. Team Spirit

Position Player
1 Illya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk
2 Denis "Larl" Sigitov
3 Magomed "Collapse" Khalilov
4 Myroslav "Mira" Kolpakov
5 Yaroslav "Miposhka" Naidenov

As a team, Team Spirit is simply terrifying. Last season, after a rocky showing, they won the tournament right before The International going on to win the competition for the second time ever. Back in 2021 it was a Cinderella Story, while in 2023 it was a show of pure dominance.

This year, they’ve entered every tournament as an undeniable threat, winning PGL Wallachia Season 1 back in May. While they have stumbled sometimes this season such as finishing 7-8th at Riyadh Masters, this roster always bounces back and they are a hard team to put down.

Winning here will cement Team Spirit in the history books as the first ever team in the history of Dota esports to win The International three times.

1. Team Falcons

Position Player
1 Oliver "skiter" Lepko
2 Stanislav "Malr1ne" Potorak
3 Ammar "ATF" Al-Assaf
4 Andreas "Cr1t-" Nielsen
5 Wu "Sneyking" Jingjun

While the rest of our Dota power rankings are subject to discussion, the number one favourite is not a matter of debate.

Team Falcons formed last November with the explicit task of becoming the next international super power. What followed was exactly that, claiming four Tier 1 tournament to claim over $2,000,000 in prize and recently finishing 3rd at Riyadh Masters 2024.

Considering their incredible record and stalwart roster, they are still human – their few losses this season coming at the hands of Team Liquid, Team Spirit, Xtreme Gaming and few others. Not winning The International would be considered an upset for this team.

TI13 Power Rankings
